Weekend of Fun

Well, this past weekend has been so much fun! It started Friday morning, because it was my birthday, haha. I had the day off of work and so I woke up "late" (like 8:30, but it's much later than I normally wake up) got ready for the day and opened my PRESENTS!. Josh got me some really cute clothes and this game that I really wanted.. it was perfect. Then I had a dumb doctor's appointment, so that was the only crappy thing about this weekend, but it was only like 5 minutes, so it wasn't bad. After the doctors, Josh took me to see the new movie "I Am Legend" with Will Smith, and it was REALLY good! We really, really liked it. After that we walked around the mall a little bit and then we went out to dinner with some friends. We went to Olive Garden, one of my favorites, and we went with our friends Elliot, Veronica, and Melanie. After that we all went back to our place and played my new game, Guesstures! We also invited some other friends of ours over. We played and ate funfetti cake! It was such a fun birthday! Josh definitely made me feel so special!

Then on Saturday Josh had this big project for school to finish, so he did that while I played Fifa soccer on XBox all day. It was actually really fun and now I'm addicted. Later that afternoon, we went with Devin and Andrea some really good friends of ours and we went bowling and out to eat. We all bowled really well and we had such a great time! I actually learned to bowl really well when I was 10 because I was in a bowling league with a friend of mine... we have trophies to prove it. Haha. Well, after we ate, we went back to our friends and played Yahtzee... way fun! We are so lucky we have such amazing friends.

Now today is the last day of the weekend.... and we went to church this morning and sacrament was just so nice. We had our Christmas program and a lot of musical numbers. I actually sang with two other girls, "Far Far Away on Judeas Plains" and I thought we sounded good.

Well, I had such a great weekend and am so grateful for an amazing husband and such great friends!

Christmas Count Down...

Josh and I at Rockafeller Center last Christmas
At the Manhattan Temple during Christmas

Well, it is officially December and I am excited! I love this time of year! I love decorating and I love spending time with family around the holidays. Josh and I decorated for Christmas the other day and we just had so much fun! I posted a couple of pictures on here of last Christmas which we spent in New York. We had such a blast. The last two years I had a white Christmas, but before that I never did. I always had it in California where it obviously never snows! And this year we are having another white Christmas (if it snows of course) here in Utah. This time of a year is also a little crazy because my birthday (the 14th), our anniversary (17th) and Christmas are all so close. Sorry Josh, I didn't mean to plan it that way :) Needless to say I LOVE DECEMBER!

Barrel Rolls and Free Falls

Well this past weekend we went up to Boise for my grandmother's funeral. I miss her so much, but I know she's so much happier now! Well, while we were up there we had a great time seeing all of the family and it was Josh's first time meeting EVERYONE! I have 20 aunts and uncles, about 56 first cousins and 81 second cousins... it was a big group! (Of course not all of them were there, but you get the picture). Poor Josh. Anyways, one of my cousins, his name is Justin, actually owns a little two-seater plane and he was kind enough to take us up in it!

Josh by Justin's Plane

Me by another plane in the hangar

Warning Label on our Plane

So, I was a chicken and I only let him do barrel rolls with me, but Josh, who wants to get his pilot's license one day and fly planes, wasn't scared of anything. So he did something called a hammer head which is where they fly really high and start going backwards like they're going to do a back flip, but once the front of the plane is pointing towards the ground, they just start spiraling straight for the ground! They spin and spin until he gets close, then he pulls the nose of the plane up. Way toooooo scary for me. He also let us fly the plane while we were up there, it was really amazing!

These two are the barrel rolls. I look terrified in my video, I know, but it was a lot of fun! In the beginning of my video I say, "Oh crap, I'm so scared"  HAHA.

This last one is a video Josh took while doing that hammer head thing....yikes!

Viva Las Vegas

Well, we just returned from an exciting trip to Las Vegas! The lacrosse team had a "Best of the West" tournament down there this weekend and the boys won the tournament!! But of course they would, they're just so darn good. And Josh played amazing! So Josh went down with the team Friday morning, but I couldn't take work off, so I drove down after work with Melanie. We had a fun time driving and got into Vegas around 10:30pm.

That next morning we were at the fields bright and early at 8:00am. They played 3 games that day and they won every single one of them! You can check them out on the BYU website. Here are a few pictures I snapped during the game. GO #16!

After they finished kicking everyone's butt, we went out to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, probably one of Josh's favorite places, because he LOVES wings. However, I hate them, because I think they are gross and I think eating meat off of the bone makes me want to barf. However, one of Josh's best friends on the team Elliot, his amazing parents took us there and it was extremely nice of them. I got a southwest chicken wrap which was amazing, so I like that place because they don't just serve wings :)

We spent the night at Josh's dad's uncle's house (sounds confusing I know) and they are just so kind to let us barge in. We left this morning and just barely got back. Here is a snap shot of the ride home, which consisted of Josh, Elliot, Mel, and I and watching The Office, Best of Will Ferrell, and Rob and Big.

A fun day at work

Well, lately I've been having a lot of fun at work and especially because my last day is next Wednesday, I don't even care anymore. I help everyone that I need to, but I don't go above and beyond. Needless to say, sometimes it's a little slow at work and we like to do fun things like spelling bees, rubber band shooting contests, gossip and sometimes we dress like twins. Haha. Well, me and a friend at work dressed like twins just today. It sounds so junior high, but we had so much fun. People at work were even getting us mixed up, it was great. (The peace signs don't mean anything, I just like to do that sometimes, lol)

DISASTER STRIKES

Ok... so let me start off by saying yesterday sucked. It all started at 3am. I woke up in the middle of the night (which I never do, I'm a very heavy sleeper) and I thought Josh was talking to me. Well turns out he wasn't but he sits up in bed and we look at each other and I go, "Josh, it sounds like the shower is running, go see what it is." So he gets out of bed, takes about 5 steps and says, "OH MY GOSH" The carpet was soaked! We run into the bathroom and the toilet is gushing out water. Seriously it was like someone dumping buckets of water on the ground. Josh turned the water off and we go to assess the damage. When we walked on the carpet, water was just oozing out and you could see it like a puddle OVER the carpet. What had happened was for some odd reason, the tank of the toilet cracked...so every time the tank emptied, it filled up again, dumped more water, then filled up again. We have no idea how long it was going on for, we are just extremely grateful that we woke up when we did and that we were home.

The Culprit

Since it flooded our bedroom, hallway and living room we had to have the professionals come in, clean up what they could and now we have these fans going for 3 days...

On top of that, we can't sleep in our bedroom because the fan is too loud... so now we are sleeping on our futon. What an eventful day. But all in all, we think everything will be OK!

California Trip!

Well, again I would like to apologize for NEVER posting on our blog, but as of today I solemnly swear to post more!!! I really wanted to post a picture on here of some amazing friends I have. A little over a week ago I flew home to California for one of my best friend's funerals and while I was there, me and all of the "old crew" got together for a sleep over and let me tell you, it was so much fun! It was practically our old young women's group with all of our leaders and because we were such a small group back then, we were all such amazing friends and I'm so lucky our friendship has lasted so long. So here is a little picture of us all!

Europe!

So we made it back from Europe, and we're finally updating our blog....sorry! When we got back almost a week ago, we were thrown right back into the swing of things and had to face the bitter truths of the real world...so updating the blog fell back a few places on the priority list.

Well, were do we start? We have spoken to just about everyone about our trip; so most of you already know how much fun we had, but just to reemphasize, IT WAS AMAZING! I don't think anyone has seen any of our pictures so hopefully you can check out the slideshow....there is about 50 pics in the slideshow, but we took almost 1,000; so these are only a few of the many we took. Josh also shot a ton of video and he's working on a movie of our trip.

We got to see so much while we were there, and are so glad we did it and can't wait to go back. Tiff enjoyed Ireland and Italy the most....she couldn't get over how green everything was in Ireland. Josh loved Rome and of course Ireland. He really wants to go back to Ireland and do a golf tour of the coast, playing all the amazing golf courses...maybe after he makes the big bucks!

There is so much more we can say, but it's rediculously hard to condense the trip into a few sentences. We had hoped to update the blog every couple of days or so while in Europe, but that didn't ever happen because we hardly had the time. We had the best time EVER and saw so many amazing things. It was a "once in a lifetime" opportunity and will never forget the fun we had.

No fun... Josh is sick

Well, for the past few days we haven't really left the house. Josh has been very, very sick! I feel so bad for him! It all started back on Thursday night, he wasn't feeling good and had a slight fever. Then Friday he got a little worse and his fever got worse and then he started feeling sick to his stomach. That night he was up all night throwing up :( Poor guy! All night Friday and all morning Saturday this went on, so we went to the doctor's Saturday afternoon and after waiting for 2 hours, they finally took us back! Then they put him on an IV to get fluids in him because he was so dehydrated and that took another 2 1/2 hours! So all in all, we were there for 4 1/2 hours. It was sad, especially because Josh hates needles and it took the nurses 6 times before they could get the IV in him, oh man, I about passed out watching. He also had a 102 degree fever. Well, today he is still sick and in bed, but things are looking up. Hopefully he'll be feeling better by tomorrow. Being sick stinks.

We're new to this!

Well, I guess we decided to join the bandwagon and actually put up a blog! I may get lazy at this, but we'll see how it goes. Nothing new has really been going on at all, just working and going to school. We are getting things ready for our big trip to Europe next month, so we have a lot of fine tuning for that! That picture of us is when we stopped by Zions National Park down in Southern Utah... it was beautiful! We hiked up to this stop and set our camera down on a rock, haha.

Let's see... what else is new... OH! Josh got a new iPhone and let me just tell you, they are what they are hyped up to be! At first I was like, "Oh Josh, it's just a phone..." but it's not! It's amazing! I love it because it has internet on it all the time, no matter where you are, if you can make a call, you can pull up the internet, which is nice because you can pull up google maps and it gives you a satelite view and it's your own personalized GPS system because it gives you arrows where you need to turn. Not only all of that, but it has the video ipod features as well! Maybe one day when the price goes down or the 2nd generation comes out, I will be able to get one as well... until then, I'm completely satisfied with my Razor :)
