Jet Lag

Oh man, I don't remember jet lag being this bad last time, but wow have we been out of it! We got back from our trip on Sunday, and boy was it extremely amazing. We are so lucky we were able to take this trip together. We got back home around 2:30 in the afternoon and got back to our house and just plopped on the couch. Is was 2:30pm in Utah and already 10:30pm in Spain. So we were both getting tired already. We tried to hold it out awhile and not go to sleep until later so we could maybe get back into the swing of things... we ended up falling asleep around 8pm. (4am in Spain). Josh woke up at 3:30am, and was wide awake (11:30am over there). I managed to "sleep in" until 6:30am.

Then Monday was a nice relaxing day where we ran some errands and just enjoyed not having to go back to work right away. We bought a nice futon/sofa bed thingy for our office, rearranged that room and also bought a cute bistro set for our balcony. (I'll post pictures tonight). We went to Mike and Rebeccas for a BBQ at their place and enjoyed some yummy hamburgers, chips, and some tall boys. (I think that's what they're called, haha). We came home from there around 9:00 and just wanted to crash, we were soooo tired. I ended up not going to bed until 10, but was up and adam again at 6:30 this morning. Josh was lucky to sleep until about 5:30 :) Hopefully soon we'll be back to normal. But I really enjoy waking up early, it's nice to take my time to get ready and spend some time with Josh in the morning. I think I might start setting my alarm at 6:30 from now on instead of 7:00... we'll see how long that lasts.

Of course I will post pictures of our trip and give you some explanation of the things we did. That will be a longer post and may take me a couple days before I get it up... check back though...

Crazy Busy

We've been busy today and I have pictures to prove it. So, we're leaving on our trip tomorrow and will be back in a week!! Let me just tell you how excited I am! That will also explain the lack of posting I will be doing here. (Not like I'm an amazing poster or anything, haha). So since we're leaving we wanted to finish up some last items so that we wouldn't have to think about it while we're gone. A few things we did...

1. We found someone to rent our apartment in Provo! YAY! I'm so happy about this because now we don't have to think about it. Our friends who are there now, move out at the end of this month and the new tenants move in starting July 1 and are signing a year contract. They said they'd probably stay until her husband was done with school though which is a little over 2 years. That would be nice!

2. We finished all of the floors (except the stairs) As you know from before, we did almost the whole floor except the hallway was struggling. Well we finished that completely today and what a relief that is! We also nailed all the baseboards back on and it looks great!

3. So Overstock has started a store for employees and friends and family, and they sell a lot of their items but for an amazing good deal! They have furniture, clothes, shoes, electronics, kitchenware, sheets, curtains, you name... It's part of their warehouse and they started doing this every other Saturday (today was their first). So while we were there we picked up a few things.

We got this beautiful accent chair ($45):

We got this new kitchen faucet (which Josh graciously installed, and we had a little accident as well because the water wasn't turned off all the way so water started spraying EVERYWHERE and Josh got soaked, lol) ($19):

And Josh also got a new book there for our trip ($3). We will definitely be going back!

4. Finally, my wonderful brother and sister in law gave Josh and me a house warming gift, which we put together and put in our family room. It matches our picture shelf thing that we have in the room too, so it's perfect! Thanks so much guys, we love it!!! It's a nice book/magazine holder. It goes so great in our place. And here are pictures of the before and afters of that:

Well, that's about it.... we are off to Spain and will post pictures when we return! Enjoy your week!

Drive In Movie

So on Friday Josh and I were invited with some friends to go to a drive in movie!! I had no idea there was one so close to us! Well it's about 15 min. away but the last time I went to a drive in was back home which they replaced with a stupid Walmart and it made me so mad! I didn't know they had any around here but it was so fun! We went and saw the new movie Star Trek (which trust me, I had my doubts... not a big fan of those movies) but it was REALLY good! It wasn't cheesy and I actually liked it. Even though I fell asleep in the last like 10 min. but what do you expect when you're laying down covered in blankets :)

It was seriously so fun... I truly believe we will be seeing that place much more often this summer. They charge per person here and not per car, but it's only $7, which is cheaper than the real theater and you get 2 movies out of it! The second movie was Monsters and Aliens, but I fell asleep 1/2 way through that one since it was like 12:30 in the morning.

We went with some friends, brought some fast food, candy and snacks, padded our explorer with some blankets and pillows, chatting with friends before the movie than enjoyed our time together. It was so great! I can't wait to go again!

Hobbies

So Josh and I were talking over dinner about different hobbies that he has and I was trying to think of some that I have and realized I really don't have that many! It kind of made me sad and made me try to think of something I could start doing. Some things I do enjoy are:

golfing

hiking

and traveling (which I don't have pictures of on this computer). So I decided, I really need to come up with some new hobbies, because I don't do things most people do. I can't craft, and to be honest, don't particularly enjoy it, I don't scrapbook, can't stand it, and I feel like if someone asks me what I like to do, I don't really have a good answer. So I'm trying to think of new hobbies and things that I would enjoy doing. One thing I was thinking I would really enjoy is bike riding. I would love to get a road bike with Josh and go riding in the mornings or in the evenings. It's just so relaxing... except bikes cost A LOT!

Another thing I thought I'd really enjoy (which everyone does, but doesn't mean I can't) is photography. I enjoy taking pictures and I think it would be really fun to get a nice camera and start snapping some photos. I have some great programs on my computer for photo editing, but can't really use it with my 3.1 megapixel camera that I have right now :)

Something else I would enjoy is bowling! Surprisingly enough I was in a bowling league when I was like 10 with one of my best friends growing up and I absolutely loved it! (And won a few trophies, but who's counting) But that's something I would need a partner for and I don't know if I could find one haha...

So I'm going to ponder and try to find a new hobby... something I will enjoy doing for awhile. We'll see where it takes me.

Are you up for the challenge??

Here is a challenge to try and better yourself and your home. My sisters in law have come up with these cute, creative ways to do a little something each day to try and improve your life. I'm participating and you can see my progress by clicking on the light/fish icon on the sidebar of my blog.
------------------------------------------------------------------->
This month's challenge is this... (if you would like to particpate, please do! It's fun to see what everyone is doing)

Home Improvement
Every week day this month, do something to better your home!

Some ideas could be:
- Organize and de-clutter something: a drawer, cupboard, closet, pantry, make-up bag etc.
- Touch up those dings in your walls with some touch-up paint
- Hang some pictures
- Re-arrange your furniture
- Give a good deep clean to something you don't get to regularly
- Re-decorate a room
- Wash those "decoration only" towels hanging in your bathroom
- Dust your ceiling fans, light fixtures and blinds
- Give a good scrub to those hard to reach places- behind your toilet, the corners or your grout, baseboards etc.
-Wash and polish your door knobs (who ever does that?!)
- Clean out your closet and donate unused clothing

... that was just the list I made in literally 2 minutes. If I had another 5 minutes, I could think of a ton more!

This doesnt have to be a huge "Home Rennovation", just keep it simple and you will feel great!

So who is in?!?!?
