This last weekend Josh and I made a trip out to Durango, CO, where his dad grew up. We started our trip on Thursday by driving 5 1/2 hours from Utah to Colorado. We got there kind of late, stayed the night at Josh's grandpa's house and then met up with the rest of the family in the morning in Silverton, CO where we watched the parade.
After the parade we went back to Durango to where we were going to camp! It's actually the first time Josh and I have been camping together since we've been married! Crazy I know, but true. Let me just tell you this place was absolutely breath taking! It was seriously so green, lush and beautiful. Here's a picture of about 10 steps from where our tent was:
There was also this little stream right next to our tent and it was so nice to sleep to (and our little nephew, he's so cute)
Here's a cute picture of Josh and his mom
After the day of spending time with family, we went back to Silverton for the firework show. Man, it was pretty good, I was surprised. It lasted about 30 min and there was some pretty awesome fireworks. Unfortunately I didn't capture them on camera, but these are some pictures from that night
Also while we were there, Josh's family is really big into dirt biking and so his aunts and uncles all brought their dirt bikes and we went riding and it was so much fun!!! My butt and back hurt afterwards, but it was worth it! We rode all the way up the mountain and saw some extremely amazing scenery.
All in all, it was a great weekend and can I just tell you I love Josh's family so much! I got so lucky to marry into such an amazing family! Of course his parents are just wonderful, but his aunts and uncles are so much fun and so nice too! I really lucked out!
Let's get started!
